Open Living
As we delve into our designs id like to share that as much as I google image ideas such as open living areas, I mostly search with Pinterest and Houzz which are both my favourite apps to use. If you have any other apps or pages you use to find great ideas for the home feel free to share:)
I love open living areas that transition thought the house, the open areas have nothing to hide but all to gain. In our current home the kitchen is closed in and I'm always making coffee or preparing food for guests and the setup of our kitchen and entertaining areas are not connected so I feel like I'm just stuck in a kitchen on my own! Also, being a mother, if I need to prepare something being in an open space allows me to see my kids at all time even if I want to make a coffee, prepare their lunch and put down dishes in the washer! So below is some inspiration for a lively open space:)
Although some of these pictures are not specifically Hampton Styles, I'm starting to look more into the layouts of homes and their designs and from there we can start tweaking it with our favourite Hamptons look.
Specifically I do like the motion of the flow being kitchen, dining and living, or living, dining and kitchen, aligned with each other so I've had a look to see what our house flow could possibly look like...What do you think?
Love the fresh and soft colours! Sourced from http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2015/09/guest-blogger-luciane-of-home-bunch.html

The Drawing Board
Ive always dreamed of designing my own home and always thought of the little details, and now that we are going to start designing our house, the question is where to start? what do we like? What is practical? What looks good? What will it cost? (most importantly:)
So it was really important for us to look around, go for a drive and get inspiration from with houses. We have really loved watching American home design shows whether they are renovation shows, interior design or building and buying shows, we've been really interested and leaning towards the american style home, even country american style home. I love the warmth and cosiness it brings, and the little details they have on their walls and ceilings, I even love the roofs! (shingles)!
However sometimes as beautiful as some country American style homes are, some can appear a little cluttered for my liking, where I prefer a cleaner and open look, and Mario and I have come to the conclusion that we like Hampton style homes and living. classy, cosy, mature even, but slightly coastal and warm. Here are a few examples :)
But i don't plan to just look for Hampton style homes, this is our opportunity to design our own home!! I will take ideas from everywhere and somehow incorporate it into what we like and how we live.
